Try this: Colamone (I think that's what it's called).
The instructions are in Japanese, but here's how it's played. You control the blue pieces. The objective is to get your pieces across the board, to the last row. You win once you score 8 points (or more).
How do the pieces move? You will notice dots on each of the pieces. They tell you where each piece can go. Like in chess, you can capture the opponent's pieces by displacing them.
It's not that hard! The AI leaves much to be desired anyway. Here's a screenshot of my win.
